World Tour

The Music Is Written and all its Music Poetry is about to embark on its own world tour. Rose Dog Books will be taking it to various book fairs and associations from Washington DC to LA in the States, starting this November 2010. Then it will be going overseas in the spring. The lucky book gets to go to two international book fairs (without me! It’s taking on a life of its own. Perhaps I should have kept playing music instead of writing about it. An instrument can’t play itself!) One will be in Bologna, Italy, one in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and then hopefully, to the largest and most well known, in Frankfurt, Germany, later in the year. Around 200,000 publishers from around the world, and book lovers on top of that, will be attending. Hopefully the book will get into the hands of those who will be inspired by Music Poetry reflections:

Where does music enter,

For it’s not solely

Through the ear.

The surrounding beat penetrates the skin,

Your hair,

The hollow channel of the ear

Playing tickles on the drum.

Then caressing soft sensitivities of your tissue

Is forced through the bone

And twists and turns the soul.

Please use the comments at the bottom of this post to tell me your own stories, poems, opinions and thoughts.

Writing assignment: Write about a trip from the perspective of a book, and add comments that you hear people say when they read you. Then send it to me. I’d love to read that.

Music assignment: Take a piece of music and jazz it up so that it has an Italian flair. Then take the same piece and make it sound Middle Eastern and then German.
